Progress and Good
I’ve been doing a lot of reflection lately about my own purpose and whether I’m doing enough. (I am, but we all wrestle with this right?) I think I have so many ideas about what I should be doing in each area of my life, parenting, business, coaching, etc., that when I fall short, or something isn’t perfect, then it’s not good enough to publish or talk about, or just plain NOT GOOD ENOUGH. (In caps, because that’s how I hear it in my head.)
Perfection is the enemy of good and perfection is the enemy of progress. I’ve been failing to make real progress on the blog portion of this site and in a few other endeavors I’ve been brainstorming, but it’s because I’ve been aiming for perfection. I’m going to attempt to let that go in my efforts of putting out SOME kind of GOOD content regularly. My hope is to still have well-researched articles because I think the key to this health revolution is education. On the flip though, I realize (thanks husband) that everyone doesn’t want to read PubMed all the time or learn the effects of magnesium on the body or delve into copper toxicity and the importance of zinc in our diets. Y’all. I read about these things EVERY day, which I think creates a knowledge overload for myself and also gets in my own way in putting out information for my friends and family that is helpful, accurate, and succinct.
My aim here will be to provide that information, but also to write on a more personal level about what my family is doing and how I think it relates to health. Stick around for some family anecdotes, but also hey maybe I’ll be talking about your home’s microbiome or building a recipe masterlist (actual post in my drafts).
Thanks for reading along friends. Any topics, light or more in-depth you’d like me to touch on?
